North Sulawesi Dive Resorts
Dive Into Lembeh
Well-regarded boutique dive resort that is perfectly positioned to discover the wonderful muck and coral diving of the Lembeh Strait.
Dive Into Lembeh is nestled on the black coral sands of Kasawari Bay, located at the northern end of the mainland of the Lembeh Strait.
The resort is British / Dutch owned and managed by the same team who operate Dive Into Raja Ampat. The resort is comprised of a handful of lovely private bungalow rooms, positioned throughout the attractive grounds. Guests staying here are just steps away from discovering what treasures lie beneath the black volcanic sands.
Lembeh Strait is renowned for the quality of its muck diving. Divers of all kinds, and especially underwater photographers, will enjoy spotting weird and wonderful underwater species that are often endemic to this area.
Hotel Services/Facilities: The resort is a bespoke diver’s resort with a strong eco-conscious ethos. All the water for the rooms and pool are sourced from their own onsite well, buildings are made from locally sourced materials, and guests are given refillable drinking water containers on arrival.
Dive Into Lembeh’s big draw is its incredible house reef that makes the resort popular with underwater photographers who have plenty of space for their equipment in the spacious camera room.
The resort also has a 18m by 6m swimming pool with a spacious sundeck for sunbathing in between dives, and a sea view massage room.
Free WiFi is available throughout the whole resort.
Guests can choose to add on optional extra excursions during their stay including a Minahasa Highlands Tour, taking in the sights of North Sulawesi, and a trip to Tangkoko National Park to see the famous Tarsier primates.
Food, Beverage & Entertainment Facilities: All meals are served in the lovely open air restaurant / bar. Experienced chefs provide guests with a great selection of local and international dishes. Freshly baked breads are available daily.
The resort’s fully stocked bar is a great place to hang out and the 55-inch 4K television is fantastic for presentations or just simply checking your day’s underwater results. All international sporting events are streamed for all to enjoy.
Transfers: Manado’s airport, the international gateway to North Sulawesi, is Sam Ratulangi Airport (code MDC) and is situated an approximately a 60-minute drive from the Dive Into Lembeh resort.
Dive Into Lembeh has 10 spacious sea view private bungalows and one Suite equipped with TV, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini bar, safe, and a western bathroom with hot water rain shower. Drinking water is provided in all bungalows in the form of a five gallon hot and cold water dispenser, with tea and coffee facilities available.
The resort is the only one on the island to offer an individual Japanese style Onsen (hot tub) for each seaview bungalow. Relax in your own hot tub on the veranda, that also boasts comfy bean bags, and a drying rack for your convenience.
There are also three Longhouse rooms available. These affordable rooms are contained within a single building and do not offer a seaview. They are attractively furnished and have AC, mini bar and a western bathroom with hot water shower, and a water dispenser for hot and cold water.
The Owner / Manager team at Dive Into Lembeh have over 25 years’ experience in high end liveaboard and resort management. Consequently, Dive Into Lembeh feels something like a liveaboard on land, highly regarded for its operation and also the quality of diving on offer.
Three boat dives per day are scheduled on twin engine fiberglass dive boats to a choice of more than 60 dive spots in the Lembeh Strait. After every dive, the boats return back to the resort so guests can enjoy a surface interval by the swimming pool or make any adjustments to camera gear before the next dive.
An additional night dive by boat is available daily, providing there is a minimum of two people.
If you have booked a diving package (starting from three nights with two days of diving), then there is complimentary access to the world-famous house reef dive sites including “Hairball” and “Aw Shucks” between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
Dive Into Lembeh’s fully equipped dive centre offers diver training and equipment rental and Nitrox (payable locally). It has a spacious camera room and dedicated camera rinse tanks. There is also a guest dive gear locker room, with gear rinse tanks and showers for after the dive. The dive guides are trained in camera handling and are specialised in working in Lembeh’s unique underwater environment.
Diving in the Lembeh Strait means you are diving with a guide who is trained to show you species such as Frog Fish, Hairy Frog Fish, Mimic Octopus, Blue Ringed Octopus, Banded Sea Snake, Mandarin Fish, Orangutan Crabs, Mantis Shrimps and many other critters.
The Lembeh Strait has long been established as one of the best macro diving spots on the planet. Although famous for its muck diving on black volcanic slopes, the area also boasts some wonderful coral dive sites. Dive Into Lembeh’s House Reef is the biggest coral reef inside of the Lembeh Strait and great coral dive sites such as Angels Window and California Dreaming are a short boat ride away from the resort.
