Atlantis Dumaguete Resort
Popular beachfront dive resort that is perfectly located to discover the superb diving of the Dauin and Dumaguete area.
Atlantis Dumaguete is a dedicated dive resort incorporating 44 rooms built around a lush tropical garden and a waterfront restaurant. The resort is renowned for its excellent amenities and service including a pool, spa, spacious camera room and well-equipped dive centre.
With its black volcanic sand, Dauin is known as the Frogfish capital of the Philippines, and a unique destination for critter diving.
Atlantis Dumaguete is located minutes away from over 20 local dive spots, most of which are marine protected areas. Guests can also take advantage of day trips to the nearby Apo Island, Siquijor and snorkeling with the Whale Sharks in Oslob.
Hotel Services/Facilities: Atlantis Dumaguete is well-placed for both diving and exploring further afield in Negros. Guests can relax by the freshwater 100sqm pool which is beautifully landscaped offering space for sunbathing and shady trees.
The Spa features four private therapy rooms – there’s also a sauna and rain shower area to complement your therapy. Perfect for unwinding after a day’s diving.
Most areas of the resort have Wi-Fi connection and internet is free during your stay. There are complimentary desktop PCs to contact home, and a boutique shop with dive items and souvenirs.
Atlantis Dumaguete has an on-site dive centre and a spacious climate-controlled Camera Room with plenty of facilities including 21 individual cubbyholes and a large flatscreen TV for sharing your photos with friends.
Food, Beverage & Entertainment Facilities: Toko’s restaurant is right on the beach and offers a unique dining experience. Using fresh local products and flavours, but made to an international standard, they offer daily changing chalkboard lunch and dinner menus. Choose from an extensive list of cocktails and shakes, or sip delicious coffee while enjoying the wonderful view.
Transfers: Atlantis Resort is situated in Dauin, around 30 minutes’ drive from Dumaguete City on the southern tip of the island of Negros. Dumaguete is around an hour’s flight from Manila. It is also easily accessible via van and boat or fast ferry from Cebu (110km distance).
Atlantis Resort’s 40 rooms and suites are open plan and spacious in design. All rooms have en-suite with shower, safe, TV with cable, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, minibar and refrigerator.
Deluxe Rooms have either a king bed (convertible to 2 twin beds) or a queen bed. Some deluxe rooms have an adjoining room with 2 twin beds and the same amenities. These adjoining rooms are ideal for families.
Ocean Front Rooms have a direct ocean view. Each has a king bed (convertible to 2 twin beds), coffee/tea maker and DVD player.
Garden Suites have either king bed/combinable twins or 2 queen beds, coffee/tea maker and DVD player. These suites also have a large furnished balcony or patio.
The Premier Garden Suite has two bedrooms – a queen bed and king bed/combinable twins with shared ensuite facilities, coffee/tea maker and DVD player.
Atlantis Resort’s dive facilities support all levels of recreational divers, Nitrox as well as rebreather and technical diving. Try dives are available for non-divers, and guests can partake in SSI training courses and most specialties.
The dive centre is spacious and well-equipped with a purpose-built training pool and classroom, high quality rental equipment, a hot water shower in the dive shop, and 60 individual equipment storage cubby-holes to keep your equipment dry and organized. Fresh beach towels, snacks and drinking water are provided daily.
Packages are booked to include unlimited scheduled boat diving – typically five dives a day including night dives. Diving is generally in small groups of no more than six people and private diving is available on request. The majority of dive spots are reachable within a ten-minute boat ride from resort.
Day trips (extra charge) can be organised to see the incredible corals of Apo Island, the vibrant walls of Siquijor and snorkeling with Whale Sharks in Oslob.
The Apo Island trip includes three dives and a BBQ lunch. Apo Island is a protected marine reserve and recognised as one of the top dive sites in the Philippines. Sea turtles of several varieties, along with many varieties of both hard and soft corals, as well as huge fields of table corals await.
Don’t miss these great dives with over 400 documented species of corals – that’s 65% of the world’s corals – or the once in a lifetime chance to snorkel with Whale Sharks in Oslob.
Dumaguete dive sites offer a combination of sloping reef and sandy areas; muck diving fanatics are in for a treat here as the coastal diving is like muck diving but with 40’+ visibility, a black sand bottom instead of silt, no trash yet with all the same critters found in the muck. There are also several artificial reef sites in Dumaguete (House Reef, Cars, Sahara, Ginamaan) and all sites are diveable for beginners. Dumaguete offers a high diversity of coastal diving critters, and the fish are less shy because of the Marine Protected Areas.
