Wadi Sabarah Lodge
A beautiful boutique resort that celebrates the unique beauty of the southern Red Sea above and below the water.
Wadi Sabarah Lodge and Botanical Gardens overlooks 700m of pristine fringing reef between Port Ghalib and Marsa Alam. Built from repurposed fossilised coral limestone, the resort has been stylishly designed to be in harmony with its stunning surroundings.
Relax post-diving with a stroll around the resort’s incredible botanical gardens, enjoy a scenic jeep tour to the nearby desert and mountains, or chill out with some yoga or meditation practice.
A stay at Wadi Sabarah offers a very special retreat for those who want to combine incredible diving with relaxation and tranquillity.
Hotel Services/Facilities: Guests at Wadi Sabarah are accommodated in rooms and suites, each with terrace or balcony making the most of the stunning Red Sea views. The resort boasts a 400m stretch of natural beach and a lovely infinity swimming pool.
The Lodge offers many unique spaces to relax including Karen’s Living Room, an extensive library that holds books, local artefacts, guides and classics on Egyptian history, nature conservation, geology and more.
There is a communal TV room and complimentary WiFi but the resort and rooms are deliberately low-tech to enable guests to switch off and relax in the beauty of nature.
Wadi Sabarah is surrounded by specially-curated botanical gardens which contain over 2000 plants and 40 local species.
Food, Beverage & Entertainment Facilities: Set on the highest point of the valley (wadi), the Tamarisk restaurant and bar offers daily menus that showcase the best of Egyptian and international cuisine. The restaurant overlooks the dunes of the Eastern desert on one side and the sea and botanical gardens on the other. Sit back and take in the breathtaking sunsets over dinner.
The Medemia pool deck is situated at the edge of the lodge offering unobstructed sea views and a café bar.
Yoga and meditation are available at the resort, while jeep safaris and excursions to the surrounding area can also be arranged.
Transfers: Wadi Sabarah Lodge is located 25km north of Marsa Alam. The transfer time is around 40 minutes from Marsa Alam airport and around 3 hours from Hurghada airport.
Wadi Sabarah Lodge offers 46 rooms and 3 suites, each artfully built from fossilised coral limestone and intricately decorated with local crafts and curated artwork.
There are three room types – Standard Rooms with 29m² space, Superior Rooms with 31 m² space, and Premium Rooms with 36m² space. All rooms are beautifully furnished and air-conditioned offering a choice of twin or kingsize beds, an en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan, mini-bar / fridge, tea / coffee maker, hairdryer, complimentary toiletries, and an iron / ironing board.
All rooms have a direct sea view terrace or balcony.
Junior Suites offer 83m² in space with a desk and additional lounge area.
The Dive Centre at Wadi Sabarah Lodge opened in October 2023 and is run by the experienced and renowned Emperor Divers team.
With a diving program tailormade by well-known Red Sea dive guide Sonia Goggel, backed by ecological presentations and a commitment to small dive groups, guests can enjoy an unparalleled dive experience.
Guided dives are offered on a maximum 6:1 ratio to allow divers time and space to witness and photograph marine life behaviours. Shore diving trips by minibus explore the many local bays and reefs, and shore dive packs offer 2 guided dives per day (including transport) and a single unguided house reef dive, tanks, nitrox, weights and weightbelt.
Daily boat trips on Emperor’s own vessels from Port Ghalib and Marsa Alam, each within 30 minutes’ drive, and speedboat trips are offered to legendary Elphinstone Reef. Additional trips can be arranged to Dolphin House, Samadai and the Hamada Wreck. Special trips are subject to extra supplements.
A remarkable house reef is accessible via the pier and offers three distinct dives across 700m of pristine fringing reef. House Reef dives include guide, tanks, nitrox, weights and weightbelt. Night dives are also available (extra charge).
A full range of PADI training courses is available. Please pre-book to arrange.
In the evening, guests can enjoy general, seasonal and dive-site specific ecological, biological and environmental presentations to make each diving day exceptional.
