Number of Rooms: Accommodates just 10 guests, in air-conditioned thatched chalets or ‘Meru’ style luxury safari tents, making for an exclusive and tranquil experience.
Transfers: Hoedspruit (Eastgate) Airport is close with direct flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town. The airports of Nelspruit and Phalaborwa can also serve as access points. Self-drive is an alternative option; the drive from Johannesburg takes about seven hours on good roads.
KwaMbili Game Lodge provides an authentic safari experience at an affordable price. Situated in the Thornybush Game Reserve near Hoedspruit within the Greater Kruger area, the reserve is home to the Big Five as well as an abundance of other game and bird species. This means good sightings, either while out on a game drive or on foot during bush walks. KwaMbili means ‘Place of Two’ in the local Shangaan language.
Knowledgeable rangers will introduce you to the tracks, movements, sights and sounds, which give you a window into the secrets of the African bush. Back at the Lodge, view wildlife from the safety and comfort of the well-positioned.
Restaurant, bar, swimming pool, game viewing deck, waterhole. A variety of dishes are prepared by local chefs. English breakfast and a variety of fruit, yoghurt, toast and breakfast cereals.
Lunch is light accompanied by salad and home-made bread. The main meal is a three-course dinner of starter or soup, main course and dessert. Coffee and tea is available throughout the day.
Accommodation is in thatched chalets or large Meru-style safari tents. All have shower, toilet, electricity, patio and mosquito nets over the beds.
Chalets are closer to the main building with air conditioning and can be used as family suites. Safari tents are further from the main building pitched under a thatched roof with an open-air shower and toilet.
