Indonesia Liveaboard Holidays
Dewi Nusantara
LUXURY LIVEABOARD HOLIDAYS TO INDONESIA
Dewi Nusantara offers a five-star liveaboard experience in the heart of the Coral Triangle, to the furthest corners of the Indonesian archipelago.
With the largest wooden hull in Southeast Asia at an overall length of 58 metres and with three masts, this traditionally built schooner moves with grace and stability. Two thousand square metres of sail are complemented by two 500-horsepower marine engines and two desalinators that each produce 5000 litres of fresh water daily. Dewi Nusantara was purposely designed to operate independently for long periods at sea while offering unparalleled comfort.
There is an attentive Indonesian crew of 19, including one cruise director and four dive masters, all with a vast knowledge of their homeland and all the dive sites you will visit as a guest onboard. Dewi Nusantara is one of the world’s finest liveaboard vessels.
Liveaboard Services / Facilities: 8 spacious Deluxe Staterooms on the lower deck and 1 Master Suite on the main deck. On the main deck you will also find an indoor and outdoor dining area, a spacious and comfortable lounge with TV and audio, a roomy dive deck with a camera table, rinsing tanks and showers and a camera room. Two sundecks offer comfortable lounging furniture to relax under the sun and enjoy incredible views. Dewi Nusantara is hugely spacious from bow to stern with a beam 12 metres long.
Food, Beverage & Entertainment Facilities: 5 main meals are meticulously planned by the chef each day, using only the finest and freshest local produce, with high end restaurant quality presentation and taste. There is an outdoor dining area and an indoor dining room, offering guests ample space and great views of the exotic locations you sail past. Mealtimes are mostly a communal affair but if you would prefer some privacy this can be arranged too.
Starting with a healthy ‘grazing breakfast’ with croissants, toast, fruit, cereals, coffee, or tea before the first dive of the day.
A formal cooked breakfast is then served between the first and second dives of the day, offering guests the option of either a sumptuous Western or Indonesian breakfast.
Following the second dive, a tantalizing buffet awaits you for lunch, showcasing an array of Western and local Indonesian dishes.
If you’re feeling hungry after your third dive of the day, a light afternoon tea and snacks are available.
Dinner is served either before or after the night dive, depending on guest participation.
In addition to all these meals, the crew are happy to provide guests with snacks and / or meals during the day on request.
Drinks and Beverages: There is a good selection of drinks in the relaxation area with comfortable sofas, adjacent to the indoor dining room. A purser will serve you whatever drink you desire, whether it’s a cup of tea or a glass of wine. The only house rule is once you’ve had an alcoholic drink, there is no more diving.
There is a TV and audio system in the lounge, a library with books and board games, a camera room, paddle boarding & kayaking, and land excursions depending on the itinerary.

Each cabin has its own en-suite bathroom (4.5m x 1.3m), reading lights, 220V power points, a porthole, hanging / drawer storage for clothing, a dressing table / desk and ample storage in the wardrobe for all personal belongings.
Main Deck: The Master Suite is located aft quarters of the main deck and is the ship’s signature room. It occupies the vessel’s full width and has a 180-degree view of the ocean behind the ship from the stern, with a comfortable king-size double bed and an en-suite bathroom that offers a shower and a bath with an ocean view. Guests also get their own air-conditioned sitting area with a large corner sofa and a natural-shaped teak table.
There is ample storage in the wardrobe for all personal belongings and rear windows that offer an abundance of natural light and can be opened for fresh air. The Master Suite offers a luxurious retreat and at 46 square metres, is the largest room onboard and perhaps one of the largest suites available on most liveaboards worldwide.
Sun Deck: The midship deck, located in front of the Bridge, is filled with comfortable lounging furniture for you to lay back and take in the incredible views. This deck is the perfect haven for sunbathing, unwinding with a book, or socialising with other divers.
The bow sun deck looks forward over the ocean. With the wind filling the sails above your head you can watch the ocean waves and spot dolphins, whales and jumping fish. Two hammocks provide the best ‘seats’ in the house, swaying to the rhythm of the ocean.
The sun decks are a great place to find a quiet place to read a book or socialise with other guests over a sunrise with a cup of coffee or a sunset with a cocktail at the end of another amazing day in paradise. Diving on Dewi Nusantara
Divers prepare their dive kit ready for the next dive on the spacious dive deck. The crew will then transfer your BCD’s and tanks into a dive tender. With their wetsuits on, divers will them climb down a sturdy ladder from the side of the dive deck to board a dive tender. All diving is carried out using two custom-built tenders.
Each diver is responsible for planning their own dive profile. In doing so, the crew asks that all divers adhere to the safe diving practices set by their training agency. Detailed briefings will be given before every dive.
The diving at some sites is considered relatively advanced because of the often-strong currents encountered there – your safety is the crew’s priority.
Diving conditions in Indonesia are generally good all year, but the best time to dive is between October and April with less rainfall and generally better underwater visibility.
Visibility – During the dry season (October to April), visibility is usually 20 to 40 metres. During the wet season (May to September), visibility can be reduced to 10 to 20 metres due to plankton blooms and stronger currents.
Water temperature – Water temperatures are warm year-round, ranging from 24 to 30°C. A light wetsuit is usually best, but you should consider a heavier wetsuit during the wet season.
Weather – The dry season is generally dry and sunny, while the wet season brings more rainfall and tropical storms. However, rainfall is often short-lived and localised.
